  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped

What do you need:

  • 1 kilogram of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup of chopped white onion
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Toasted sesame seeds for serving

Combine garlic, onion, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, ginger, and black pepper in a bowl. Place the chicken in the bottom of a crock pot then toss over it. Cover and cook 4 to 5 hours over low heat. When done, transfer chicken to bowl and thaw. Transfer the sauce from the crock pot to a skillet. Combine the water and cornstarch in a bowl then add the sauce. Bring the sauce to a boil over medium-high heat until thickened, about 2 to 3 minutes. For the sauce over the shredded chicken and toss to coat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
