Martin Archery Bengal Compound Bow – Best Choice for Beginners

Martin Archery, one of the oldest manufacturers of compound bows with over 58 years of experience, produces some of the finest and most accurate compound bows available on the market today. With compound bows running the gamut of price and style, Martin Archery creates a model for every shooter. Owning a Martin Archery compound bow is an experience that all archery enthusiasts will appreciate. Their years of composite manufacturing experience and dedication to the task of producing only the best quality archery equipment make superior technology a given in any bow produced by the Martin team.

While many of the Martin bows excel for their quality workmanship, superior speed, and performance standards, each archer has different skill levels. Since the beginning of the story is usually a good place to start, I’ll start with what I consider to be one of the best bows for a beginning adult archer. The Bengal from their respected Gold series is, in my opinion, one of the most forgiving and easy to master bows on the market.

The Bengal has many stats that the archery aficionado will also appreciate, however for now I prefer to focus on the items that will make the beginner appreciate this bow which will give them “more value for money”.

Starting with 80% draw on its faster M-2 Pro Cam, the Flare is easier to hold for longer periods of time for a beginning archer than a traditional bow with 65% draw. As any beginner can tell you, at some point those muscles that you don’t use for anything else start to twitch. Combine that with a weight of only 3.5 lbs., this bow is easy to hold at full power for longer periods of time.

With an optional shot stop, another beginner-friendly device that allows the archer to hit the same spot over and over again, this bow can make the beginner more accurate in no time. With consistency as a key ingredient, the leaner torque-free riser and 7″ clamp height make the Bengal forgiving (and for newbies, I mean their lefts and rights aren’t so… left and right The M-Series 2 chamber also reduces shock which again increases accuracy. The less I have to “fight” with my bow and shooting, the better my results will be.

And finally, the integrated racking system means that the newbie has one less thing to worry about getting on the bow correctly. The Thermal V leather grip gives a nice firm grip without slipping or slipping, and it sits nicely in the hand with just the right amount of tilt toward the elevator to prevent wrist strain. Overall, I would rate the Bengal as a great first choice for a beginner who wants a bow that they can shoot with ease and accuracy.
