baby shower game "pictionary"

Baby shower party game ideas will allow your guests to get to know each other. Usually, not all the guests at baby showers know each other. Even if they do, baby shower games are an opportunity for you to learn something new that you didn’t previously know about each other.

The only thing that all the guests have in common is that they know the mother-to-be. Coming up with game ideas centered around her will keep everyone interested and engaged.

Many baby showers are ruined because the party ends up splitting into “cliques.” People who know the guest of honor at work will stick together. People who know her from school will sit in a corner. Family members will also self-isolate. Your goal when thinking of baby shower game ideas is to get these groups of guests to interact with each other. Everyone (especially the mother-to-be) will be much more relaxed and have much more fun.

Baby shower party game ideas don’t have to differ much from regular baby shower games. There is no law that says you have to play Baby Shower Bingo at every baby shower! In every shower I’ve been to, the hostess has played the “memory tray” game. This is where she places baby related items on a tray. We all look at it, then she takes it away and we all try to make a list of what’s on the tray. Sorry everyone if this will offend, but that game isn’t much fun. It does not create interaction between the guests. No one gets up from their seat and no one even speaks.

Baby Pictionary would be so much more fun. Some other game ideas include regular games that you play at parties and gatherings. They are just as fun when you turn them into shower games. All you have to do is get a large sketch pad and a tripod. Maybe even just a dry erase board that you can put up temporarily on the wall. Form teams where you mix the “cliques” and watch the fun begin. People are embarrassed (almost no one thinks they can draw). People shout answers, laugh and have a lot of fun.

Poker is incredibly popular right now. Why can’t it become one of your ideas for a shower? Just choose a few decks of cards that match your theme (for example, Pooh playing cards) or some toddler playing cards. Then let everyone play a couple of games of stud poker or Texas Hold ‘Em.

Game ideas don’t even have to be limited to playing at home. I always wanted someone with the guts to throw a baby shower at Dave and Buster’s or Chuck E. Cheese. Games (and food) are already provided for you. Also, it would make a great baby shower theme. The last time the mom-to-be would be a girl!
