Do more, become a success

Brian Tracy speaks in a direct and personal tone. He jumps right into his topic and states: “…the ability to select your most important task at the moment, and then get on with that task and do it quickly and well, will probably have a greater impact on your success than any other quality or skill.” that you can develop.

Tracy is quick to define her thesis… He shares the “frog” analogy, stating, “Your “frog” is your biggest and most important task, the one you’re most likely to procrastinate if you don’t do something.” A frog is a task.

Brian’s topics are presented with great prominence, maximizing the reader’s interest. He talks about “Clarity” stating: “Clarity is perhaps the most important concept in personal productivity… One of the main reasons for procrastination and lack of motivation is vagueness, confusion and lack of clarity about what you’re trying to do…”

Tracy uses questions on purpose. He asks, “What skill, if I developed it and did it excellently, would have the most positive impact on my career?” Self-examination is a central point of this book.

Brian quotes famous people to make points. He quotes Wayne Gretzky as he talks about overcoming the fear of success. Says Gretzky, “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.” Fear of failure kills potential. Tracy also gives great advice. She lays out clues for overcoming fears, stating, “…you can accomplish the greatest task of your life if you discipline yourself to take one step at a time.” Big tasks can seem small when dissected!
