Global warming – Will God help us solve the problem?

Orange groves on the east coast, palm trees in New Jersey, where is God’s hand in all of this? Are we going to end up like a bunch of fried plantains?

According to the latest scientific evidence revealed by ABC News and recently featured in Time magazine, the world we live in may be heating up at a dangerously rapid rate due to increased emissions of greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide and other pollutants created by man. The glaciers are melting and our coasts are in danger of being invaded by water. What else would they be invaded with? At the same time, the sun is supposed to be dying. Well, which is it, are we going to burn or freeze to death?

Climate change is out of the closet and no longer the stepchild of a minority of do-gooder environmentalists. Today almost everyone is worried about global warming. What’s wrong with things heating up? Do people worry that we are creating an environment friendlier for the devil than for God? I for one am not worried about that. I have faith that God will come to our rescue and save us from ourselves. We may be the cause of carbon emissions, but God is the source of all carbon elements. Thank God for God. Where would we carbon-based elements be without God’s inspiration?

What would be wrong with having fresh orange groves or banana plants growing in New York? Perhaps they could supply the fresh juice some Eastern liberal establishments need to develop a more environmentally focused philosophy when it comes to the economics of an expanding gross national product due to the fruits of our labor. Although for the last fifty years, the East has been colder and the West warmer. There is no evidence to suggest that this anomaly is part of an Eastern liberal conspiracy against the conservative leanings of our hearts or that the trend will not reverse, but there is no evidence to the contrary either. On the other hand, if we burn or freeze to death, what will it matter? Who will be around to enjoy a man-made prosperity, regardless of the political origins of the underlying economic boom?

I think it’s all a matter of allowing evolution to take place under the good grace of God. Let us not underestimate God’s grand design or his ability to reinvigorate and keep our environment safe for all mankind. As even the brightest of scientists will admit, there are some things we just don’t understand. I think there are some things that we just have to take on faith.

I was wondering the other day what would be so terrible if the average temperature in the world increased fifteen degrees in a period of ten years. This would mean that in some places we could fry eggs on the sidewalk without the benefit of using electric or gas ovens for cooking. Stop and think about how much fuel consumption this warming trend would save. How much could we then reduce heating oil emissions into the atmosphere by burning less fossil fuel? Maybe global warming is a self-correcting problem. What would be wrong with growing palm trees and coconuts in New Jersey? I love coconuts. And as for the erosion of our shorelines, I thought we could all use more water to help the planet flourish. Perhaps this is God’s way of improving our natural habitat to offer us a more human-friendly environment, not to mention the aquatic wonders it could do by diminishing the swarms of fish we use to feed ourselves.

Now back to this big issue people are making about the formation of a hole in the stratosphere or ionosphere (I always confuse my spheres of influence) and the potential danger that atmospheric ozone depletion poses to human life due to ultra violet ray poisoning, and so on. Maybe it’s time for some of us to thicken our skin and stop worrying about the effect of weather changes on the atmosphere that only God can control. Let’s not forget the potential of the Sun’s death. Although none of us reading this article will be around to see it happen, I do have a ray of hope, and I believe God has taken that possibility into account. Again I’m not worried. I firmly believe that God has the ability to effect change. I hope and pray that my great, great, great grandchildren will be around to experience the goodness and mercy of his actions.

I think it would be better for all of us to worry about the catastrophic consequences that nuclear annihilation represents for our society. If we don’t stop nuclear proliferation, we may all end up living on oranges, coconuts, and bananas again. That would surely eliminate free zone emissions from car refrigerators and air conditioners, but it would definitely hamper any travel arrangements we had in mind in our gas-guzzling SUVs and eliminate the need to store food, except possibly in caves. . Is the return of the primitive that we carry within us just around the corner?

At the risk of sounding simplistic, what to worry about? We are all in the hands of God. Whatever happens, it is his will. I believe there is a chance that God will give us the inspiration to see the error of our ways before it is necessary for Him Himself to make all the necessary adjustments for our survival. Have you thought about asking God how hot it’s going to be around here before we come to our senses and start protecting our environment not only from global warming, but also from the threat of nuclear devastation?
