The Tim Tebow Show

Tim Tebow has taken the NFL by storm in the past two weeks by being named the starter in Denver. He first led Denver to a win against the Dolphins in overtime. Tebow had a two story day, the first 3 quarters of the game he looked like the quarterback everyone has been doubting looking so ineffective and awkward. Then came the fourth quarter and Tebow played very well. He showed his poise and made big plays that all of Tebow’s lovers knew he was capable of. He led the Broncos to two late scoring drives to allow the Broncos to go into overtime. In overtime, Tebow looked good too leading his Broncos on a drive to set up the game-winning field goal. He had a very useful day providing fantasy owners with stats through the air and the ever-important run stats. He paid fantasy owners in hopes of using him as a bye week to fill out the first week they added him with a potential lead.

This week was not the same for the popular Tim Tebow. Tebow looked horrible this Sunday against the Lions by providing the Lions with defensive touchdowns and misreading coverage by missing wide receivers and also throwing the ball inaccurately. The Broncos’ offense was constantly stalled, and the Lions continually pummeled the Broncos. Typically, despite playing poorly in “real” football, he can provide a regular stat line to fantasy owners with his rushing stats also added to his lower passing stats. There was nothing going on this Sunday, as Tebow’s passing stats were minimal enough that fantasy owners didn’t enjoy his rushing yards. Tebow’s obvious flaws and lack of NFL quarterback ability were on full display Sunday. The result also showed the fantasy value of him, a fairly high floor due to his career stats and a very low ceiling. Basically, you know what you’ll typically get from Tebow in the world of fantasy football and it’s not enough to just be a starting quarterback for your fantasy team week in and week out in every fantasy football format. Currently, Tebow isn’t sure if he’ll retain his starting position after his embarrassing performance this week, which only increases Tim Tebow’s risk. From a fantasy perspective, stay away from this Florida product with too much risk to justify the limited fantasy advantage of him to your fantasy football team.
