Big Events on Pay Per View Satellite TV

You know that securing a great satellite TV package means you’ll have access to the best of the best, but there are still things that aren’t included in all plans. How is that possible? Well, in the case of big events, matchups and ‘once in a lifetime’ matchups, it’s easy to see why this would be the case. Unless you dial it through Pay Per View, it’s not going to happen. Here are some great events not to be missed.

Annual Pro Wrestling Smackdowns – Wrestling fans prepare all year long for the main event, when champions are crowned or dethroned and new heroes rise. It’s not The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke, but the spectacular annual Smackdown featuring some of the best athletes in the world. Satellite subscribers will be happy to know they can get it all in high definition come that time of year. Compared to some Super Bowls, these events stand out and make fans proud.

Epic Concerts: ‘Once in a Lifetime’ concerts are rare, but when they go down, you can bet there’s a reason to make a PPV purchase and watch it. So many events in recent history could be included in a list like this. If you go back to the 1980s, it would have been Live Aid in Philadelphia. At that concert, Led Zeppelin came together for the first and only time to play their epic ‘Stairway to Heaven’ to legions of wowed fans. In the thirty years since then, the band have performed together only once, so you’d be correct to point out that they were ‘twice in a lifetime’.

Great fights: Can anyone think of a more exciting event in professional boxing than the Tyson Holyfield fight of yesteryear? If you consider that Iron Mike, by then unhinged and struggling to keep his career alive, chose to bite Holyfield’s ear once he was cornered, you see the point. Tyson did it twice, to the horror and dismay of all who watched. His ban and blacklisting from professional boxing were to be expected, but no one could have seen it coming. Nobody actually saw it, unless they were watching it on Pay Per View satellite TV. Any fight fan knows better than to do without.

Sports from around the world: It’s not just the main boxing or wrestling event that garners the highest billing on Pay Per View stations. World sports are becoming more popular than world music these days. Why not get into the mix with a showdown between two of Italy’s best soccer teams? Or what would you say to an Australian rugby championship? Once you get a taste of the excitement that occurs at different contests abroad, you’ll see why today’s fan should look beyond the good old USA of A.
