Colesberg is an ideal stopover between Cape Town and Johannesburg. It is located within the Karoo amid beautiful koppies. The most famous of these was called Towerberg, which means Magic Mountain.

Temperatures are moderate in Coleberg, ranging from 10 to 35 degrees Celsius in summer and 4 to 30 degrees Celsius in winter.

Colesberg offers many attractions including several national monuments.

It is a local Northern Cape Karoo town that was first inhabited by ancient stone age hunter-gatherers.

The city continues to be an oasis for the traveler on the main routes to the interior and the coast. The N1 and N9 meet here and Colesberg is the southern entrance to the lake! Xariep Tourist Route (R58) that runs through Gariepdam, Norvalspont, Venterstad, Oviston and Bethulie.

These beautifully restored Karoo lodge houses are situated in the historic part of Colesberg, right next to the Dutch Reformed Church. The guest houses offer 2 or 3 bedrooms, some with private bathrooms. Each house has its own living room and a television. The kitchen has a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Many of these also offer self-service facilities.

The reception is on Charl Cilliers Street where you will be treated to something delicious. Secure parking is available in locked garages next to the houses. There are also great restaurants, shops, and a supermarket within easy walking distance.
