How to Sell Your World of Warcraft Account to Get the Most Profit on eBay

Want to sell your World of Warcraft WoW account? You’re not alone; Hundreds of accounts are offered on eBay each week. Unfortunately, Blizzard has been waging a war against the small seller lately and using eBay’s VeRO policy to cancel auctions. It’s a mystery why Blizzard would like to hire someone to specifically target people, when big corporations are making millions. Regardless, they have chosen to attack the players who sell on eBay. This guide will show you how to make more money on your World of Warcraft auction and drastically reduce Blizzard’s ability to cancel your auction right before it sells.

The vast majority of accounts for sale on eBay have some type of disclaimer. While they may seem legal and official, it is not worth “cut and paste”. Keep in mind that what you are really selling is your login, password, and answer to the secret question. None of these items are copyrighted by Blizzard, nor may they violate any copyright laws. The only legal recourse Blizzard would have against anyone selling this information would be to terminate the account. It’s highly unlikely that Blizzard could or would. They are in business to make money and they don’t really care where it comes from. Again, don’t bother with the disclaimer, it’s a waste of time and won’t prevent your auction from being canceled.

Once you’ve decided to sell your account, the first thing you need is an eBay account that gives you access to several key features: Buy It Now, One-Day Auction, and Best Offer. Don’t waste your time with seven-day auctions. You’re simply inviting Blizzard to cancel your auction as the end nears, frustrating everyone who was bidding and forcing it to put it back up for sale and wait for people to come back and bid. The easiest way to access these features is to get verified, which costs $ 5. If you can’t get verified, you will need to buy reviews from sellers of .01 recipes or e-books, and adhere to some other imposed eBay rules.

If you have an account that is a few days old with no comment, don’t get your hopes up. You will only get a fraction of what you would have received if you had taken the time to buy a few reviews or get verified. Basically, you are asking someone to send you money electronically based on some screenshots or unverifiable claims. Would you send someone hundreds if your eBay account was 24 hours old? Most people would rather spend more on a smaller account than take the risk.

Once your eBay account allows you to use the Buy It Now, One Day Auction, and Best Bid features, you can use any of the following combinations to maximize your purchase price and prevent Blizzard from canceling your auction. I suggest the following: buy it now in three days with the best offer feature. This does three things; First, it gives the buyer a sense of urgency due to time limits, sets the price bar, and allows them to accept offers below the purchase price. You will either get a bid you want, a full buy, or the auction will expire and put it back up for sale. Unless you have to be in a hurry, be patient. You may need to re-list your auction multiple times, but if that means getting a few hundred more for your account, it’s well worth the extra expense.

Another strategy is to use one-day auctions. This allows bidding, but the 24-hour time limit prevents Blizzard from canceling your auction. Your VeRO application must be filed and processed, by which time the auction will be over. The advantage of one-day auctions is the frequency with which you can put them back up for sale; every 24 hours. Ebay’s default search function displays auctions in the order they end, as soon as possible. This means that your auctions will constantly be at the top of the list and a buyer must react instantly to get your account.

I do not recommend using the seven or ten day auction. This gives Blizzard an ample opportunity to file a VeRO complaint and cancel your auction. Rest assured, Blizzard’s intention is to wait until you have bidders and to make everyone mad by canceling the auction.

If you follow this guide, combined with a detailed and well thought out auction design, you will get hundreds more than the vast majority of sellers. Accounts sell in the $ 700-1k range all the time, and there’s no reason you can’t get your part.
