Surviving the football offseason

As a die-hard soccer fan, the summer months are some of the longest and most boring months of the year as I count down the days until the opening weekends of the NFL and NCAA. Just thinking about all the outfield hits, deep passes and countless end zone celebrations has me giddy with excitement. In this article, I hope to share some of my secrets on how to cope with the absence of football in your life and help the summer months go by a little faster so we can get back on track and paint our faces.

One way to keep up with my football news is to follow various football blogs online that cover my favorite teams and tackle all the NFL football news and rumors. This also offers a great way to interact with other soccer fans and helps me talk and think about soccer again. Along with online football blogs, watch TV shows like ESPN’s NFL Live for up-to-date NFL news and rumors.

Another way to satisfy my football cravings during the offseason is to go to video websites like YouTube or Google Video and search for highlights from previous football games. This is a great way to feel nostalgic for the previous season’s triumphs or open up some sore wounds by reliving past heartbreaking losses. Either way, this is another great way to get your soccer fix.

One final way to survive the football offseason is to buy preseason magazines. These periodicals cover every offseason move your favorite teams have made and help reduce the amount of time actually spent in the offseason. These are a great source for football news and NFL rumors and offer a great way to catch up on all the NFL off-season stories. Since these posts come out in the middle of summer, they greatly reduce the time we have to wait before relevant in-depth football news is reported.

I hope these hacks help ease the pain of not having soccer in your life during the sweltering summer months. Here’s Labor Day to get here as fast as possible!
