Tortilla Stuffed with Chicken (Indian Style Recipe)

In the US, the tortilla is always filled with various optional components such as bell pepper, chicken, tomato, mushrooms, beef, bacon, cheese, and so on. The Chicken Stuffed Tortilla Recipe that I am going to tell you about here is an Indian version of the (most) delicious stuffed tortilla. The preparation is not that difficult and it is ideal when you are bored with the usual omelette and want to experiment a little.

Ingredients

  • 200 g minced chicken (keema)
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons capsicum (green pepper) very finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons of milk

How to make Tortilla Stuffed with Chicken

1. Take a non-stick frying pan and heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, add 1 finely chopped onion, 2 teaspoons of finely chopped green pepper, 1 finely chopped garlic clove and fry for 5 minutes until the onion softens.

2. Place 200g minced chicken (suitably washed and drained to remove excess water) in the pan (step 1) and fry for about 10 minutes until lightly browned and completely tender.

3. Now add the finely chopped tomato and stir for a few minutes. Then add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, and salt to taste in the pan (step 1) and fry for a few more minutes. Set the filling aside.

4. To make the omelet, crack 3 eggs into the bowl and beat with 1/4 teaspoon soy sauce and salt to taste. Add 2 teaspoons of milk to make the tortilla light and fluffy.

5. Take the same nonstick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, put the tortilla mixture (step 4) in the skillet, and make a tortilla over medium low heat. Cook both sides until brown.

6. Put the filling on one side of the tortilla and fold it into a semicircle and cut it into two equal parts from the middle.

Tortilla stuffed with chicken it is ready to serve hot for lunch/dinner with rice or chappati.
